BUSHIDOarcade

On the tracks of an ownerless dog, a leader-animal that could make us think about a Hacker/Ronin,
Mauro Ceolin's BUSHIDOarcade follows the "samurai's way'; opening the door to seductive levels of understanding; subjective identity and collective history persues themselves in a whirling world which is separated between new and ancient, between the sense of particularize and universalism, natural and artificial. In times of digital reality, Ceolin searches the roots of contemporaneity offered by the rhizomes of internet, "the spider's" {World Wide Web} where the gaze gets organized, where technique and spirit meets. The Flash animation compresses the mass culture's icons, stratifying, interbreeding with neutral, anonymous images, informatic cut-up that transforms the sign into symbol, the symbol into witness: of time. The horeographically visual impulse, piling up the twenty-one rules which constitutes the Bushido, code of honour and behaviour realized between ninth and twelfth century and implying a warlike and at the same time monastic way of life, on the notes of Bach - codified overture for the use and consume of the web master. Written in verses, his "illuminations" flickers in a free flow of thoughts transformed into images, of a poetry raised on associations, to equalize the roaming run of an ownerless dog.

Sulle orme di un cane sciolto, animale guida che potrebbe far pensare a un Hacker/Ronin, il BUSHIDOarcade di Mauro Ceolin persegue la "via" del Samurai, aprendo la porta a seducenti livelli di comprensione; identità soggettiva e storia collettiva si inseguono nel turbinare di un mondo diviso tra ciò che è nuovo e ciò che è antico, tra il senso del particolare e quello dell'universale, naturale e artificiale. Nella pelle della realtà digitale Ceolin cerca le radici del contemporaneo, che gli sono offerte dai rizomi di internet, "tela di ragno" [World Wide Web] in cui lo sguardo si organizza, dove tecnica e spirito si incontrano. L'animazione in flash condensa le icone della cultura di massa, che si stratificano, ibridandosi con immagini neutre, anonime, cut-up informatico che trasforma il segno in simbolo, il simbolo in testimone: del tempo. Coreografico stimolo visivo che sulle note di Bach - ouverture codificata ad uso e consumo dei web masters - inanella le ventuno norme che compongono il Bushido, codice d'onore e di comportamento composto a cavallo del nono e del dodicesimo secolo, racchiudendo in sé una concezione della vita tanto belligerante quanto monastica. Scritto in versi, le sue "illuminazioni" baluginano in un libero fluire, dei pensieri resi in immagine, della poesia evocata per associazioni, ad eguagliare il moto errante di un cane sciolto.
